Not long ago I posted a tutorial on facial exercises. This is a great way to save money on some of the costly beauty treatments that have become so common. I first learned of facial exercises many years ago while browsing my local Barnes and Noble. I came across a book (author unknown) demonstrating various exercises for the face and neck. The before and after pictures were incredible, but at the time I was much younger and the desire to work my facial muscles was not a priority for me. Fast forward to today in my 40′s and now I have a true appreciation for anything that will help me look 10 years younger!

Facial exercises are becoming more and more popular as people look to save money, as well as find more natural ways to enhance their beauty. Facial exercises have been shared on numerous talk shows as well as local news programs. The theory behind facial exercises is, if you firm up the muscles in your face, it will in turn smooth the skin on the surface of those muscles, hence helping your skin to appear youthful and toned. There have been no clinical studies to date that I am aware of, but I can tell you from personal experience – this stuff really works! There are exercises designed to slim your jawline, tone your cheeks and lips and firm your forehead and eye area. I have been doing about five different exercises, five minutes a day for nearly six months now, and I can definitely see a difference not only in my skins appearance, but in the overall tone of my face. My cheekbones are more prominent, my lips appear fuller and the creasing around my lips has diminished, my eyebrows appear much more lifted which helps to reduce the hooding effect that I tend to get, my forehead is firmer and both the frown lines and creases on my forehead have disappeared. I will add that I do follow a healthy diet plan with plenty of fruits and vegetables as part of my beauty regimen, which I believe helps as well (check out this article), but this is for real! Just try it for three to six months and see what you think. What do you have to lose?
